How To Apply Sofa & Fabric Stain Repellent

Clean the entire sofa

Vacuum all sofa pieces — seat cushions, back cushions and arms — to remove all dust, pet hair and loose debris. For existing stains, treat with Invisel Fabric Stain Remover first: spray on the stain, wait 30–60 seconds, blot from outside in with a clean cloth. Allow to dry completely before applying the protector.

💡 Coating on a dirty or stained surface is wasted coating. The nano particles need a clean, dry fabric base to bond correctly.

Shake the bottle for 15 seconds

Shake the aerosol bottle vigorously for 15 seconds before spraying. This ensures the silicone nano particles are evenly distributed in the solution for consistent coverage.

⚠️ Do not apply in direct sunlight, on wet fabric, or in high-humidity conditions. Avoid monsoon season for best results.

Spray the first coat — horizontal passes

Hold the aerosol nozzle 8–10cm from the fabric surface. Spray in straight, even horizontal lines across the full surface — seat cushions, back cushions and arms. Apply a light, even mist. Do not saturate the fabric.

Allow the first coat to dry (5–10 mins)

Let the first coat dry naturally for 5–10 minutes. The fabric will look slightly damp but should not feel wet. Do not sit on or touch the sofa during this time.

⏰ You can test if the first coat is dry by lightly touching an inconspicuous area — it should feel dry to the touch, not tacky.

Rotate the nozzle 90° and spray the second coat

Once the first coat is dry, rotate the aerosol nozzle 90° and spray a second coat perpendicular to the first. This cross-hatch method ensures the nano particles cover all fibre directions and fill any gaps left by the first coat.

⚠️ Do not apply a single thick coat instead of two light coats — this reduces bonding and creates uneven coverage.

Let it dry for 6 hours

Allow the sofa to air dry completely for at least 6 hours without sitting on it or placing anything on the treated surface. Full protection is achieved in 24 hours. The fabric will look and feel identical to before application — no stiffening, no sheen, no residue.

🌙 Apply in the evening so the sofa cures overnight and is ready for normal use the next morning.
