How To Apply Leather Protector & Enhancer

Clean the leather surface

Check the leather for dust, old conditioner residue, wax polish, hand cream or grime. Any existing residue will prevent the nano coating from bonding directly to the leather. For new leather or leather with no residue, a light wipe with a dry cloth is sufficient. For leather with existing conditioner, wax or polish buildup, spray Invisel Multi-Surface Cleaner onto a cloth and wipe in smooth strokes to remove all residue cleanly.

💡 For brand new leather with no residue, go straight to Step 3. For leather that has been regularly conditioned with other products, the Multi-Surface Cleaner prep step is essential — old product residue is the most common reason buyers get shorter protection than expected.

Dry completely

After cleaning, wipe with a clean dry cloth. The leather must be completely dry before applying the Leather Protector — any moisture on the surface will prevent correct bonding and can cause darkening or water marks. Allow at least 20–30 minutes after any wet cleaning before applying.

⏰ For leather bags and accessories with intricate stitching or embossed details, use a dry cotton swab to remove moisture from recessed areas before applying.

Apply a small amount to the cloth — not to the leather

Pour a small, coin-sized amount of Leather Protector & Enhancer onto a clean soft cloth or the applicator pad. Do not pour directly onto the leather surface. Work on one section at a time — leather sofa arm, seat cushion or bag panel.

⚠️ Less is more with leather products. Applying too much product at once is the most common mistake — it leads to the greasy, oily finish. A thin, even coat buffed correctly gives better conditioning, better colour enrichment and better protection than a thick application.

Work in circular motions across the section

Using the cloth, work the product into the leather in gentle circular motions. Cover the full section evenly — including seams and edges. The leather colour will visibly deepen as you work. This is the conditioning agent being absorbed and the nano protection bonding to the leather surface.

Allow 5 minutes to absorb

Let the product sit for 5 minutes without touching or buffing. The conditioning agents are being absorbed into the leather fibre during this time. The leather will look slightly damp but should not feel wet or tacky. Do not sit on or use leather items during this time.

⏰ For very dry or neglected leather that feels stiff or parched, a second coat applied 30 minutes after the first significantly improves the conditioning result and restores more suppleness.

Buff to a clean, natural finish

Using the clean dry side of the cloth, buff the leather surface in the direction of the leather grain or seam lines until smooth, non-sticky and uniform. The surface should look rich, conditioned and have a natural sheen — not a plastic-looking high gloss. Allow 6 hours before normal use.

⚠️ If the leather feels greasy or oily after buffing, too much product was applied. Wipe the surface with a dry cloth immediately and continue buffing — this will remove excess and restore the clean finish.
